My camera, on this occasion, was a Canon 5D which has no built in flash, when we unexpectedly came across this leopard in the Botswana bush. I did not have a flash with me, as we had not planned on being out late at night. One of my friends had a spotlight trained on the leopard. So I took my chance ending up with this result. The only other light we had were stars, shining like jewels in the night sky and the moon.

Beautiful, beautiful image! I am really envious! You have this one really sharp. Was it with a flash or floodlight? You can even see the moisture on his nose.

maybe you were lucky not to have a flash, this shot turned out very well. think the shadowy aspect makes this an above average shot of a leopard. like the fact also that you were able to get him/her looking at you so intently.

Oh, my training a light on a leopard took nerves of steel! I think I would've wanted to be in a different vehicle. Can't wait to see my next one! Great shot, Brian. Just shows you that your camera can take advantage of every little shred of light!
