Behind The Lens

Location

Besant nagar Elliots beach , Chennai,Tamilnadu. Elliot's Beach (popularly known as "Besant Nagar Beach" or "Bessie") is located in Besant Nagar, Chennai, India. It forms the end-point of the Marina Beach shore, and is named after Edward Elliot, Governor of Madras. It has the Velankanni Church and the Ashtalakshmi Kovil nearby. In the colonial era, it was a fairly exclusive place limited to ex-patriates. The beach is popular with local college students and families, who now no longer travel to Marina Beach. There are many restaurants near the beach.

Time

Its was around 6-7 pm in the evening.I was hanging out with my friends. We were having fun at the beach.there was this peanut selling cart where they also sell friedn corn. This image was clicked when the flames produced during that frying happens.

Lighting

Nothing special, the sparks during the corn frying impressed me so i went to a one sec shutter speed to create a different kind of light art.besides it was late in the evening , so te contrast came out beautiful.

Equipment

Nikon D3300 with 18-55mm lens . No tripod - Handheld

Inspiration

I have always taken the image of the sparks mostly with people potraits , standing near the sparks. The sparks during the corn frying impressed me so i went to a one sec shutter speed to create a different kind of light art.besides it was late in the evening.

Editing

Post porcessed in Adobe Photoshop CS6.Little contrast added and saturation too.

In my camera bag

Nikon D3300 , 18-55mm Nikkor , 55-200mm Nikkor.Tripod,Cleaning kits

Feedback

Always use a tripod for slower shuuterspeed.Be creative.Trust on your instincts.
