Location
this photo was taken just out from the Gold Coast Queensland AustraliaTime
the time of day was afternoon and we got some rough waters but a great display from the whalesLighting
i used a polarising filter as it was so bright and wanted to get the best photo possibleEquipment
Canon 60D with a standard kit lens 75-300mm 5.6Inspiration
watching you-tube tutorials the night before to see how best to get the best capture and the whales activity on the day made me want something to look back on our great day out. this one was so close we got wet when she hit the water after this breachEditing
all I did was push up contrast as it was a little dark in the straight out of camera photo and slight sharpen I have this blown up on canvas in my lounge roomIn my camera bag
i am still learning so have a 50mm 1.8 as its cost effective at getting good portraits of my kids, and only have the kit lenses 18-55mm and 75-300mm 5.6 want to get others but am learning to get the best with what I have firstFeedback
read up and watch tutorials for ideas to put into practice, and play, I was told to have it on continuous shoot and got the whale actually from breach to splash down and focus was good i did get a few with the whales a bit further away too so was fun to see what I captured and know I had learnt something new to keep me learning and growing, I am no pro photographer
