This photo was taken close to my home in south of Sweden, in the County of Blekinge.Time
This was Midsummer day early morning around 5.30 am. At this time of the year it is only dark during 4 hours so it is important to get out of bed early to catch the early morning light.Lighting
I really like the light when the sun is on it's way up. Shadows are longer and the air is crisp and clear. Since it was early morning there was some mist still around the trees. 10 minutes after this picture was taken the magic was gone. No mist and to "hard" light. Taken the photo against the sun with some trees filtering the light helps getting a good picture without disturbing reflexes. Iso 200 underexposed 1 f stopEquipment
The photo was taken with a Canon 30D and a Canon 50 mm/1.4 prime lens. Free hand 1/400 aperture 4.0 underexposed 1 f stopInspiration
I love driving and walking around in the forest early summer mornings looking for nice photo opportunities. At first I came driving in my car and saw the perfect light, the mist and sun with sun rays coming through. I continued to drive since I was tired and on my way home. Then after 100 meter I stopped the car and.... Wow ! I need to go back and take a photo of this. So I did ! Remember to never be lazy and to comfortable when you see a photo opportunity. What really inspired me was the magical light and light is the source of life well presented in this photo.Editing
I was using Aperture from Apple and shoot in Raw. I worked with contrasts, shadows, highlights and a bit of saturation for the flowers in the foreground. I am very careful to not "overdo" a picture. In my camera bag
Today I have Canon 5D mark III and Canon lenses L70-200/2,8 - L24-105/4.0 -- L400/5,6Feedback
My advise is to go out before the sunrise to be in time for the first Sun rays. Underexpose slightly and always have something between the sun and the lens, like tree branches in my case.
