Location
This was taken on the Brazilian side of the Iguacu waterfalls, at the border between Brazil and Argentina. The waterfall streches for 2.7 kilometres but this is the most spectacular section - "garganta del diablo"Time
A beautiful sunset was beaming straight into the waterfallLighting
Such light immediately prompted me to go for the silky smooth effect of the flowing water under a long exposureEquipment
Canon 60d - sigma 18-35 f/1.8. This was a handheld shot on a vibrating metal platform. A lucky one in a series of about a dozen which ended up shaky. A tripod wouldn't have helped much as there were people constantly moving about and shaking the observation platform.Inspiration
The sheer beauty of the placeEditing
A bit of contrast and vibrance boost, local temperature adjustments on the background to make it a cool-ish purple and have it stand out against the warm waterfall. In my camera bag
A wide, normal and zoom lens, plus a prime 50mmFeedback
Don't be put off by the absence of a tripod, experiment with placing the camera on something. If light is too strong to get the long exposure, use a polarizer filter and a high f number (the highest even). Remember though that the highest f number deteriorates sharpness a bit.
