I love the drama in this low key high burn portrait with it's partial Rembrandt lighting effect. However, I wish the nose shadow was better placed to avoid disfigurement. Great effect, well done!

Great light...and a great look.
This shadow I would usually call distracting because of the disfigurement but it seems to add something to this potrait. Yeah and this ponds which others call eyes invite for a deep dive into the soul.

A slightly controversial image in as much as it has divided opinion amongst those leaving comments, and I am trying not to be swayed either way with my opinion. I believe this is a beautifully composed and well thought out image showing great experimental lighting and use of colour, however, like some I find the bulbous nose resulting from the shadow distracting in a negative way. I do not believe this an attractive feature nor do I find it interesting artistically because the shadow extends to exaggerate/contort the lip into further disfigurement of a face, which is clearly not disfigured, this I find
