Was a round lunch time and was cloudy, this was a help to get the picture I want it.Lighting
Was a cloudy day and not too much light, so I know it was going to be a very long exposureEquipment
I used a nikon D810 with the Nikon 24-70mm f2,8. I used a SIngh-Ray Vari-N-Trio Circular Variable Neutral Density Filter and A Manfrotto 055CX Pro4 with an Acratech head-ball.Inspiration
The waterfall always gave me good inspiration and the light of that day was perfect for what I had on my mindEditing
I use PS6 and i basically incresed the contrast and the blacks. The rest was already in captured in the CF card. I don't really like to over abuse the post production. I normally shoot in neutral mode, to have a better control of contrast and colors light in ACR.In my camera bag
I have an enormous collection of lenses, so it really depend where I'm going and the main subject I'm going to take picture. Normally I carry 2 camera bodies the 24-70mm f2,8 and the 70-200nn f2,8 VRII. As i wrote ather bodies and lenses is changing every time.Feedback
The only advice is to be patiance and wait the right time of the time, according the effect/result you would like to achieve. Placing the tripod and camera in the right place is probably even more important than your settings. I use to use as naturalist photographer, that with animals and insects you must be as fast as you can to froze the subject in action, with landscape and macro is exactly the opposite.
