This was taken by Bell rock & Courthouse rock near Sedona.Time
This is one of my favorite photos. I went to Sedona to take an all day guided photography workshop. We headed out at 6:00AM just before sunrise. I was able to capture some really nice shots of the rocks & the sunrise. We were on the way back to the parking lot when I spotted this cactus. Its donut Hole shape just spoke to meLighting
The lighting was just perfect. It was that early morning light just after sunrise. You could not have asked for better conditions.Equipment

Like I said, I was returning to the parking lot & this cactus just popped out at me. It was a moral imperative to capture this shot.Editing
I am fairly new to DSLR. I use Lightroom 4 for my post-shot processing. It really helped to pull out the accents in this photo.In my camera bag
I have upgraded my camera recently. I now carry a Canon 70D. I have 2 lenses that came with the camera: 18-55mm & 55-250 mm. I have an external flash but I rarely use it. I prefer natural lighting.Feedback
Got out & shoot as often as possible. Take chances & try to stretch your boundaries. But most of all have fun & learn from each photo.
