Behind The Lens

Location

The photo on my back verandah. Beaker (the cat) had just settled down to have his nap and had his paw rested like this with his claws out. Too good an opportunity to miss.

Time

The photo was taken in the afternoon, wasn't set up just a spur of the moment shot.

Lighting

The afternoon sun, you can't beat it.

Equipment

A quick trigger finger.

Inspiration

I had been wanting a photo of my cats claws for some time but had never been able to get a decent shot. I saw an opportunity and got this one.

Editing

Yes i bumped the contrast a little and converted it to black and white.

In my camera bag

In my bag I have the basics. The camera around my neck which will usually have the 50mm 1.4 attached and in my bag I will have a 18-55 and also a 55-250.

Feedback

Be quick. Sometimes seeing something and taking it naturally is better than arranging a shot.
