Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken last fall right after a rain storm while I was walking my dog in my neighborhood.Time
it was mid afternoon a thunderstorm had just passed. I had never attempted to take water drop photos before and thought this was a great opportunity to experiment with water drops.Lighting
I prefer natural light do not like using flash or studio lighting for any shoots . I made sure what little sunlight I had was from behind me so it would reflect some on the water drops. The famous artist Don Drumm was there to block some of the light reflecting off a car so I would not have any lens flare.Equipment
I use a Nikon d3200 and lens used on this photo was a Nikon 55-300 mm no other equipment was usedInspiration
the leaf was on the ground in front of my friend artist Don Drumm's house I always get inspired when I walk past his house and see his sculptures in his yard and porchEditing
I clarified the photo a bit in and brought out the contrast just a bit to bring out the veins in the leave someIn my camera bag
I usually only carry my d3200 a 15 to 55 mm and a 55 to 300 and a tripodFeedback
I am self taught and love to experiment instead of try to preset my camera to what I am shooting. I feel tossing out the rules of photography once in awhile helps keep my mind fresh of ideas and helps me create new ideas
