Me and a friend. Sixty-fifth birthday self-portrait. I was following advice I was given for how to keep self-portraits in focus. It works! Best hint for selfies - set your tripod up, then take your camera off, go to the place you'll be standing, point back at the tripod head and focus on it, then set your focus to manual, so it doesn't re-focus. Put the camera back on the tripod and shoot. Brilliant, or what?
