Difficult shot with very strong hard light. The foreground shadows make it happen! The low angle over the deck boards adds a lot too. You blew out the sun but managed to save most of the sky. The highlights along the left shore add a strong leading line. Maybe it was just a lucky shot but great photographers do all they can to maximize the chance of being lucky!

Thank you for keen observations and thoughtful comments! I think most of my photography is 75% luck and 25% skill. And your so right, the sun was totally blown out in this photo, I still need to improve on these kind of shots. But I will keep playing and hopefully improving at the same time. It was a pleasure to view your gallery as well you have lots of wonderful sunsets in your portfolio...kudos!
