Not a studio portrait. Just me and my snooted SB-600 at a friend's 70th birthday party, where the guests were willing to let me take some impromptu snaps. Olivia was between mouthfuls of birthday cake.
I take a lot of shots like this as it's so quick and easy. I hold a snooted SB-600 in my extended and raised left hand and aim the head downward so that the light falls slantwise just in front of the sitter's face, then I snap the shot with the D700 that I'm holding in my right hand. I'm there and gone before they can even blink. So far the Gary Fong PowerSnoot has never let me down.
