That is the most perfect photo I have ever seen!! I live at the bottom eastern side of Australia, and see nothing like this - apart from the TV. It is beyond comprehension to capture some as incredible, remarkable, stunning ... words fail me. Congratulations on your well deserved feature. I am in awe!!! Thank you for sharing this :)

Wonderful! Just wonderful- What I love about this shot is the contrast between the black and white- it really emphasizes the science of black skin and clear hair!

Location
This is one of my all time favourites. The image was taken on the borders of Wapusk National Park and the Churchill Wildlife Management Area, Churchill, Manitoba, Canada. I was leading the team on the return journey from setting up our world unique, remote TundraBuggy Lodge at Cape Churchill when in the distance we saw a mother bear and her two 2 year old cubs. She was curious upon us so we stopped and watched the beautiful family of polar bear approach. This image is of the cub close to the rear of mum (her bum is the right side of the image) giving at undistracted view of the cubs' face surrounded by fur.Time
It was midday, cloudy and the sun was nowhere to be seen. It was shot on 19th November 2012.Lighting
The light wasn't at its best but the reflection of the snow helped light up the whitey/yellow fur on the mum and cubs.Equipment
The was handheld using a Canon 7dmk1 and a Canon 70-200 f2.8 mk2 @200m F6.3 ISO200 1/400th. Big gloves (Heat 3 Smart), Big Jacket (Snow Mantra, Canada Goose), Big Boots (Baffin -100degree).Inspiration
To be honest you get what you get sometimes with wildlife photography especially with large walking subjects that go where they please. Having had many opportunities over the years to photograph the bears at the time they stopped to gaze upon their admirers, I was looking to fill the frame, lessening distractions that often occur in my images out on the Tundra - willows, rocks, seaweed, etc. I have many environmental shots and was looking for something different from the norm, as usual.Editing
Minimal, but brought out a little shadows, +0.95 exposure, increased whites slightly, v minimal sharpening, lens and chromatic abb adjustment in Lightroom and minimal noise/colour reduction as its the original 7d and needs it.In my camera bag
LowePro Trekker 400, Manfrotto carbon tripod cx4pro, Canon 5dMk2, Canon 7dmk2, Canon 24-70 is f4, 70-200 f2.8 mk, 17-40 f4, Toking 11-16 f2.8, Sigma 20mm f1.8 and Sigma 15 f2.8 for aurora images, Tamron 150-600, Beanbag, Canon x1.4ext, Lee filters, Camranger, Hahnel GigaPro time-lapse unit, MacBook pro and 2 hard drives, iPhone 6 and cheapie gimbal 2 axis stabiliser.Feedback
You cannot get these images in your front room so my advice is to get out there and explore. You never know where life can take you and being in the right place at the right time can get you to places you can only dream about from your armchair. On a 1 year working visa from the UK, I initially got my job 12 years ago by asking if there was a position for me a Polar Bear tour operator in Churchill, Canada and an hour before i asked there wasn't. My head and (multiple) hard drives are now full of a dozen years worth of amazing unique adventures and have met the most amazing people along the way. I am from London, UK and you can see my image library at www.canukimages.com. Happy exploring :-)
