This was one of the very first insect photos I ever took in a relatives backyard with my Nikon D90. The body-tail of the dragonfly was very long and it appeared to look as if it was smiling back at us. Although there are many types of dragonflies, this one is called the Green Darner which I spotted in Toronto. The name comes from the resemblance of a darning-needle ranging from 3 inches in length with a wingspan of 3.1 inches.
