Behind The Lens

Location

Mono Lake, Lee Vining, California

Time

Early morning, Sunrise

Lighting

Its an early morning light, Civil Twilight, I think its the best light you can get in any landscape.

Equipment

Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 24-70 f/2.8L II USM, Manfrotto 055CXPRO 3, Really Right Stuff Ballhead BH-40, Really Right Stuff L-Shape Plate, Remote.

Inspiration

I saw these photos of Mano lake in Peter Simon collection, since than I always wanted to shoot this place. well basically that's his fault! :)

Editing

Yes I did minor adjustments since I shoot RAW. its a must to do post processing. This specific file didn't need much adjustments, except i lowered highlights, corrected white balance, and added sharpen masc in Lightroom 5.

In my camera bag

Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 8-15mm f/4L USM Fisheye, Canon 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM, Zeiss Distagon T* 15mm f/2.8 ZE, Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM, 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM, 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro, Canon 1.4x & 2x Teleconverters, Really Right Stuff Ballhead BH-40, Really Right Stuff L Shape Plate, Lens cleaning stuff.

Feedback

Just have to go the places. There are lots of beautiful stuff to shoot. I would try to get evening light on those lime rock formations. Settings are simple. ISO 100 f/8 55mm 30 sec. in manual mode. Shoot from tripod as always with remote control.
