Location
I took this photo at my daughter’s home. She had a couple horses at the time. She also had a Miniature Stud & Mare which she bred. This image is of the beautiful little charcoal filly that Miss Ellie gave birth to. We named the filly, Charlie, shirt for Charcoal.Time
This was late morning when I caputured this image. I had gone outside a dozen times anxiously waiting for the birth we knew was imminent. Then it was time for my small granddaughter’s nap. So I was busy indoors for a while. Wouldn’t you know it? That’s when Charlie made her debut into the world.Lighting
I barely knew if light existed. I was so mesmerized by this new little life.Equipment
I simply used my Canon Powershot Sx150.Inspiration
We were excited about the new Mini baby and almost every day I visited & hoped that THIS would be the day.Editing
Very little. A little sharpening, very basic edits. Maybe a little cropping. I was fairly new to photography with this level of camera. In my camera bag
Then? Not much. Now? Quite a bit, as I moved up to a Canon 60 D.Feedback
Expensive, high faluting equipment doesn’t make the image. It’s your heart, your eyes, your passion.
