Location
I took this photo in the park on the shoreline at Kootenay Lake in Nelson BC, I was excited to try my new Tamron 70-300mm lens so was out taking shots and getting used to using itTime
This shot was taken in the mid afternoon on a spring dayLighting
I like outdoor photography and using natural light this is how this photo was shot and it was a beautiful clear day that dayEquipment
for this image I was using my Sony DSLR A390 and my new Tamron 70-300mm lensInspiration
I seen a lot of bird activity which caught my eye while out walking in the park, so I wandered into some brush and was able to capture this shot, it took some time and patience but I was able to capture what I wantedEditing
for this image I brightened the image and increased the saturation slightly to give it some 'pop' and make the red winged black bird more prominentIn my camera bag
my camera bag holds a Sony SLT A57, a Sony DSLR A390, a Tamron 70-300mm lens, 2 Sony 3.5-5.6/18-55 SAM lenses, and a Sony 2.8/85 SAM I also pack my circular polarizer and UV filter along with 4 extra batteries and chargers a few cleaning cloths and a couple extra memory cards, a couple lens hoods and then some extra caps for when I change my lenses around it can be a bit heavy and bulky but I have what I need with me when I need itFeedback
Being in the right place at the right time along with patience will help in getting a shot similar to this one of the red winged black bird in its natural surroundings
