Behind The Lens

Location
This was taken near Washington, IL. On my way home with my wife, I saw a small car show going on in a parking lot. I convinced her to let me turn around.
Time
It was mid July, about 1 hour before sunset, and mostly cloudy. My wife was ready to leave, and this is the last shot I took on the way to our car.
Lighting
The light was very even and just harsh enough to exaggerate the cracks in the pavement, but not so harsh as to wash out any of the photo.
Equipment
Hand held Nikon D7000 with a 35-70mm f/2.8D lens and natural light. Settings were: ISO 200, shutter: 1/400, lens: @70mm and f/2.8.
Inspiration
You don't see many show truck still in green oxide primer. You could tell the owner took care to get the body smooth, and against the harsh cracks in the pavement, I couldn't resist taking the shot.
Editing
The editing was done in Photoshop and Lightroom. First I converted it to B&W, and then I had to remove some distractions in the background. The wall and shrub are all lines and textures taken from the original to help create the feel I was looking for. I then made adjustments to contrast, clarity, sharpness, and detail to get the final result.
In my camera bag
My favorite pieces of equipment to carry are several lenses, a speed light, extra batteries, and memory cards. Everything is organized in a medium sized camera backpack, except my camera. I keep that ready as much as possible.
Feedback
Patience, car shows can be very busy, wait for your shot.
