This photo was taken in my backyard.Time
It was right around sundown.Lighting
Funny story about the lighting. This was during the time I had zero experience with shooting portraits and used lighting. I can't tell you the setup I used for this exact shot but I can tell you that I probably looked like a crazy artist, using reflectors with house lamps and a remote trigger.Equipment
Canon 5D mark III, house lamp, Speedlite EX430 IIInspiration
Clowns really intrigue me for more than one reason. First reason would be that this person behind the makeup has a story to tell and the makeup literally covers-up that story. We never see the real person, just the makeup and the persona. Second reason is that clowns are one of those things that either excite you or scare you to death. I love that aspect! two people can be looking at one image and have completely different feelings about it.Editing
I did very light touching up with showing and a secret trick I have to enhancing detail. I also added some hair to my brother... SHHHHHHIn my camera bag
Being a night photographer I will always have the following things in my bag. Canon 5D mark III, Flashlight, trigger for long exposures, bug spray, a shoelace (in case I forget my trigger), Sigma 20mm, Canon 24-105mm, Canon 50mm, Canon 17-40mm and last but not least my machete. Lots of gators in Florida.Feedback
Never forget that photographer is always meant to please yourself. The second you start taking pictures to please others you will never become an artist.
