I took this photo in Auckland, New Zealand. "The Ports of Auckland’s magnificent red-painted wrought iron fence, ornamental gates and lanterns were built in several stages between 1913 and 1923."Time
My husband and I were walking around Auckland near our hotel during the afternoon and saw this beautiful fence and I loved the lights and fence and wanted to take a photo as a pattern. My photo doesn't do the magnificent piece of wrought iron work.Lighting
It was sunny with some clouds in the sky so the natural lighting made it easy to take a great photo of the fence.Equipment
I used a Nikon D-3000 with a 55-200mm lens. I didn't use a tripod or and flash.Inspiration
I loved the intricate wrought iron work, the color and the lights. I thought it was very interesting. I didn't know the history of the subject when I took the photo.Editing
I brightened the picture to show the vibrancy of the red.In my camera bag
I usually have my Nikon D-3000, several lenses, some filters and extra cards because I kind of go crazy taking photos and I don't usually look at the photos to closely until I upload them to my laptop.Feedback
Just explore a new city or town and take photos of anything that captures your attention. Let you eye find an interesting angle that may be different than what other photographers may take
