Thanks Todd! Yes this is Gary Numan that sang "Cars". He was fronting a band called Tension 2013 last year and they opened for Nine Inch Nails. He put on a fantastic show!

This photo was taken at the Amway Arena in Orlando, FLTime
The photo was taken at night on Halloween during a rock concert. Gary Numan was fronting the opening band that night.Lighting
Usually shooting concerts in a large venue will have much better lighting than in the smaller venues. Lighting can make or break you photos and for this set the lighting was photographer friendly.Equipment
When I shoot concerts I always have my Canon 5D Mark II, a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, a Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8, and plenty of cards.Inspiration
Everything about concert photography inspires me actually. I love the fast pace and the music. I love the challenge of getting just the right shot and I find capturing the energy and raw emotion on stage to be very exciting.Editing
I did reduce the noise and adjust the levels and saturation a bit. The photo did not require much in post processing since the lighting was really good that night. In my camera bag
I always carry my Canon 5D Mark II, a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, a Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8, a Speedlite 430EX II, and plenty of cards. I have other lenses that I only take with me when they are needed.Feedback
When shooting concert photography always shoot in RAW and clean up your photos after. Use the lowest f-stop possible and adjust your shutter speed and ISO as needed. The faster your shutter speed the better so you can freeze the action and if the lighting levels are low, don't be afraid to bump up the ISO. It can sometimes be a game of trial and error due to the fact that the lighting for every show is different. Aside from figuring out which settings will be best for the lighting of the night, try to anticipate the moves and mannerisms of the band members. It goes a long way in getting just the right shot.
