Behind The Lens

Location

this photo was taken on the blackwater bridge in waterford Ontario Canada

Time

my good friend and I decided one afternoon to go out and do pictures she's loves modelling so after all the prep hair and makeup etc, we headed out on a 10 minute drive to the bridge which over looks these popular fishing ponds not the best looking place in the world but the bridge is very well kept and the sun was in the perfect spot at the time in the afternoon we go there, i believe it was around 2 or 3 O'clock when we finally got everything ready and got to the location

Lighting

the lighting here is all natural lighting used to create this image

Equipment

this was shot on a Nikon D600, lens is an Nikkor 18-105, shot hand held, no flash used

Inspiration

my inspiration for this photo was just my chance of getting out and being creative I hadn't done a shoot that was just something I chose in a while and wanted to get out and have a fun goofy shoot with my friend and ended up with some beautiful images

Editing

post processing i did some skin retouching as well as colour correction than switched the image into black and white

In my camera bag

the equipment I carry in my bag is always my Nikon D600 I have a backup Nikon D7000 just incase, I also have a variety of lenses my favourite being my 18-105 mm, 85mm, 50mm and my 75-300mm i also carry a SB 700 flash in my case and always make sure to have my lens cleaner brushes and multiple memory cards

Feedback

I recently graduated from college in photography so I'm still new to getting hired for different photography jobs so I like to make sure I have a variety of photos on my website and Facebook page to show to possible customers so any suggestion I can give to people wanting to capture something similar is to just go out with a friend and shoot its great practise you get to be creative and you'll get some great photos for this photo it would be pretty simple to create something similar this photo wasn't a planned shot more a i kept shooting but that makes some of the great pictures when you take the unexpected thats when you catch people in a vulnerable state because there not prepared for the shot and sometimes there the best reactions
