I would not want to meet him walking down the road

Behind The Lens

Location

This shot was taken in Yellowstone National Park.

Time

This shot was taken in the early afternoon.

Lighting

I was somewhat shaded from the sun which helped soften the lighting.

Equipment

This shot was taken several years ago. I was just getting into digital photography. I was using Kodak Z891. It is a point & shoot but it has some limited capabilities in Manual, Aperture & Shutter. I've actually gotten some good shots with this camera.

Inspiration

This beautiful beast was walking down the road in the opposite lane. I could not get a shot a him because of other cars. At the last possible moment he crossed in front of my car. I had my camera on the passenger seat & grabbed this shot - a once in a lifetime opportunity. People say that timing is everything in photography. With this shot I'd have to agree.

Editing

I used Lightroom 4 to process this photo. I sharpened the photo & brought out the colors. It really helped bring this photo alive.

In my camera bag

I carry a Canon 70D now. It has two lenses: 18-55MM STM & 55-250mm STM.

Feedback

If I could recommend anything, I would say keep a camera with you all the time. Learn to use all of the functions of your camera. Then when possible push your boundaries & step outside your comfort zone. You'll be amazed at the scenes you will capture.
