We were actually in my house when we took this photo. Anjane came over and we used a white backdrop with to white umbrella lamps for lighting.Time
Being that we were inside time of day was not really a factor, though it was about mid day. We did have some lighting that came through the windows, but it was fairly limited.Lighting
The lighting was pretty basic. I used two lamps with white umbrellas on top to concentrate the light on the modelEquipment
The camera was a Nikon 3100 with a basic kit lens (18-50mm). This was before I bought my speed flash so I did not actually use a flash.Inspiration
I set up this photo as a stock photo session so that I could use them to create other pieces of artwork like the one above.Editing
I did a lot of post processing with this photo as it is a photomanipulation versus a photo taken in the environment you see above. I took three stock photos, Anjane's photo, and a snow brush. I put each of these into photoshop and using various tools in photoshop I was able to produce this single photo of Anjane in the stormy environmentIn my camera bag
I usually carry my Nikon D3100, a kit lens, my 50mm, a 55mm-200mm, and an 85mm Macro lens. As well, I usually carry the speed flash and use it a lot for fill flash during photo shoots.Feedback
Well, honestly, the best advice I could give would be to take time and pay for both Lightroom and Photoshop. Those have made it possible for me to do some pretty amazing post processing with my photos. There are a lot of tutorials online for learning how to use the software also. I starting doing photo editing back in 2005, and probably better at photo editing over the photography. I have been doing photography since 2010.
