Location
This is the Bass Harbor Lighthouse in Bass Harbor, Maine.Time
This was taken at the time of sunset.Lighting
I took this picture with just the natural light given off by the sun.Equipment
I used a Canon 70D with an EF-S18-135mm lens. No tripod and no flash.Inspiration
I've always wanted to take a picture of a lighthouse by the sea. This was the perfect opportunity to do so.Editing
I brought the picture into Lightroom and used some brushes to lighten up the rocks and the lighthouse. I also add a tint more red to the light on the lighthouse to brighten it up. I added some vibrance to the sky and used the clarity brush to bring out the definition of the clouds. In my camera bag
I usually carry 3 lens (EF 18-135, 70-200mm, and my 100mm Macro lens), and my Canon 70D along with some extra batteries and memory cards.Feedback
I would probably use a tripod next time only because when I shot this picture, I was at 1/15 of a second and at that shutter speed, you are more likely to cause your image to become blurred. I was lucky this time. Also, it might help to use a slower shutter speed to allow a little bit more light into the camera so that the image can be brighter.
