I would have to rate this one of the best photos I've EVER seen. I aspire to ever possibly produce one photo this good in my life. Well done

Just fantastic, find it hard to believe, what lens did you use? Amazing.

Så artig å se igjen dette bildet. Ser du er av de mest populære i konkurransen "The face of a man"
Har selv 3 bilder inne i top 10% der, men langt unna din kvalitet. Håper du går til finalen. Jeg har ihvertfall gitt min stemme :)

Location
The photo was taken on a small lake in Hallingdal, Norway. Was on a fishingtrip together with my stepfather in oktober.Time
It was close to 6 pm, and starting to get quite dark. We were on board a small rowboat, but it was a calm evening, clear sky and a big moon, so shot wide open to blur the background and managed to get a shutterspeed of 1/125 at ISO 100 and a focal length of 120mm.Lighting
Its all natural lighting, moonshine reflected from the lake managed to get a small amount of catchlight in the eyes.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D600 and a Nikkor 24-120mm f/4 zoom lens. Shot freehand with Vibration Reduction active.Inspiration
This is my stepfather in his right elements, fishing. He took me on mountain and fishingtrips since i was 6 years old, and thaught me everything worth knowing about surviving and fishing in the wild, so he is my big inspiration for this shot. And really happy with this shot as its quite hard to get him to look directly into the lens!Editing
Some small corrections in Lightroom, contrast and clarity and some selective adjustments on the eyes. Converted to B&W in Silver Efex pro and some finishing sharpening in Photoshop. In my camera bag
Right now, as I`ve just converted from Canon to Nikon, I only have my Nikon D600 and Nikkor 24-120mm f/4 VR zoom lens. A wide angle zoom and a macro lens is on my shoppinglist.Feedback
For this particular shot my best advice is to be patient and always ready to shoot. As the light fades quickly, adjust your camerasettings accordingly, raise ISO or open aperture wider to get the proper shutterspeed to avoid blurry shots (this was in a rowboat so impossible to use a tripod).
