White Tail Buck in the woods with a new set of antlers he is growing which are covered in fuzzy velvet.

When I go on a photo hike I almost always bring my Lowepro ProTrekker 300 All Weather Photo Backpack with me. It is large enough to store my 300mm f-2.8 (large) lens attached to camera body with enough room for an extra camera body, speed light, several other lenses and many more accessories. I usually keep the camera and body out of the pack for faster access and to better distribute the weight. As I have mentioned I use a BlackRapid sling strap which I attach to the tripod mounting foot of the lens. Basically I bring the backpack to store accessories and in case the weather turns bad or I need to protect the lens during climbing or crossing a river. Something else I really like about this pack is the pocket specifically designed to hold a CamelBak Hydration System that can store 2 liters of water.

ISO 2,500 - f-2.8 - 1-400s - 300mm - Handheld - Natural Light

Canon EOS 7D Body and Canon EF 300mm f-2.8L IS USM Lens.
