This is the redundant lighthouse at Capelhinos on the island of Faial in The Azores. It was half buried in the late 1950's by a volcanic eruption just off shore, which created an extraordinary landscape, whilst destroying a whole community. Underneath the lighthouse is a fantastic information centre containing some emotional pictures. A must visit for any tourist.
