Behind The Lens

Location
This photo was taken in Racine county, Wisconsin.
Time
It was late morning as the storms rolled through.
Lighting
The lighting was blueish green with the thunderstorms building above me. Never a good sign.
Equipment
While shooting the vertical landscape series "Horizons" I always use my Canon 7d with a Canon 10-22mm.
Inspiration
I always am watching the sky. When things look like they are ready to pop I race around and try to find a landscape that will compliment the entire shot.
Editing
I shoot Horizons in HDR taking multiple bracketed shots of each scene. I do all my post processing in Photoshop with the HDR feature to retain color, depth and detail. To fine tune the image I do a bit of color balancing and some dodging and burning .
In my camera bag
Extra batteries, one extra memory card and always a plastic bag in case I am caught in the rain and running for my life.
Feedback
I find that the shots I think will not turn out end up being the best. So my advice is to always keep shooting even when you think you got the best shot. You can always delete later.
