My family and I were out for a drive one day and it was just starting to snow, we went past this path and looked down to make sure no one was coming before crossing it and the view was breathtaking, so we grabbed the camera (which was almost always on us at that time) and captured this shot.Time
It was around mid day when this was taken. We had finished lunch and went out for a drive to get out and adventure for a little bit. The snow was just starting and there was enough light to see what shots we could capture.Lighting
No lighting was necessary, everything with this photo was captured using natural light.Equipment
I was using our Canon 60D with our stock 18-200mm lens.Inspiration
It was just a breathtaking view that we couldn't pass it up.Editing
We normally would correct the brightness and contrast if anything, but what I recall from this photo is that it was almost perfect right from the start. In my camera bag
Normally we just go out with our camera and stock lens. We have a mono-pod in the trunk now in case I need to steady the shot but otherwise I normally try to just go free hand, so I can move around more freely.Feedback
Just patience and timing. We have taken countless photos in our years of photography and only get a handful of good photos from what we take. It is even more rare for us to catch one like this, but practice and just trying over and over again really help to get that great shot.
