Behind The Lens

Location

The Hill Country of Central Texas.

Time

10:29am

Lighting

No flash and overcast. 10 fps burst.

Equipment

Canon 1D Mark III, 300mm f/2.8 + 1.4x extension. Manfrotto carbon fiber tripod & RC2322 joystick head.

Inspiration

Shooting songbirds in flight is a challenge..

Editing

Standard post processing using Adobe CS4. Selective noise reduction/sharpening.

In my camera bag

Canon 1D M3 body. Lenses include the 300mm f/2.8 prime, 1.4 & 2x ext. Sigma 150mm f/2.8, 24-105mm Canon

Feedback

I used a raised feeding platform a few off the ground. Watched the bird to see the spot it would repeatedly come to. Manually focused to that area. Timed bursts on approach.
