This was taken near Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica on my first trip outside North America.Time
This was late afternoon, early dusk.Lighting
It had just finished with a gully washer thunderstorm. With the sun coming out from behind the clouds enough before sunset. I was snapping away between the remaining rain filled clouds still overhead.Equipment
It was taken with a small, point and shoot I had at the time which unfortunately has since disappeared. It was not my favorite camera but couldn’t risk my best equipment in the weather at that time.Inspiration
I love weather, nature, landscapes... Costa Rica is absolutely filled with amazing photographic opportunities but some things just can’t be captured through a lens- the smell of the humidity- the sounds of the crashing waves....The experience of being there....this is one of my best shots that captured one of my favorite memories of a fantastic trip.Editing

Timing truly is everything. Weather events both during and after, and take several shots from different angles. You will surprise yourself with some as you snap away. Look for the moment through the lens, not the picture.
