Beautiful shot. Excellent use of the available light. We loved Sydney when we visited. Looking forward to going back.

Behind The Lens

Location

This shot was taken of Anzac Bridge in Sydney, Australia.

Time

It was taken at Golden Hour just before sunset.

Lighting

Light was natural with the sun setting on the horizon. The added lighting on the bridge from the street lights makes for a great effect on the water.

Equipment

Nikon D610 f/11, ISO 80, 8secs at 24mm on a tripod with an .3 Soft Grad filter with a remote shutter.

Inspiration

I love the look of this bridge, and had always wanted to try a long exposure here.

Editing

the only adjustments made were highlights, shadows & contrast and a touch of luminosity masking.

In my camera bag

Since this shot i have now upgraded to a Nikon D810 with a Schnieder 50mm TS lens, 24-70 f/2.8 and a 70-200mm f/2.8. Also have a Hi-Tech Firecrest 16 stop filter, 10 stop Lee filter with a set of .3,.6,.9 Soft Grad filters along with a Tripod remote shutter and batteries.

Feedback

There are a number of areas which you can take photos of this bridge. It just depends on the weather and light. Given the right combination you can walk away with something special.
