Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken on the Edward M. Cotter Fire Boat on the Buffalo River in Buffalo, NY. We were on a cruise with some friends who are Fire Fighters. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_M._Cotter_(fireboat)

Time

Perfect time of day for photography... Sunset

Lighting

we had clear skies as the sun was setting.

Equipment

I shot this with a Canon T2i and a Sigma 50mm, handheld.

Inspiration

With all the great scenery around the boat I was trying to get some good photos of parts of the boat also. I was inspired to shoot this mostly to showcase the BFD (Buffalo Fire Department) with the American Flag.

Editing

This shot has been cropped and darkened a little. I also added a lite vignette to it. The color is a little orange from the sunset, which I liked so I left that alone.

In my camera bag

I carry daily my Canon T2i and either a sigma 50mm or Sigma 28mm. but I also have a tripod a mono pod various ND filter and a Canon 55-250.

Feedback

All about how open your lens is. I tried a few different Fstops but this one turned out the best to me.
