What a photo! Everything comes together perfectly... I also like specially the warm tones of this one, while the bubbles make it three-dimensional...

Location
In a wooded area close to my home, in Ayia Napa, Cyprus.Time
Late afternoon.Lighting
Even at that hour the sun was still harsh. My daughter does not like posing and runs around in all different directions so lighting her was impossible. So I had to deal with the ambient light solely with metering. Even though she was exposed properly, the background was a bit washed out, so I decided to frame stack.Equipment
My 50mm 1.4 prime lens used at a large aperture for shallow depth of field.Inspiration
My daughter loves playing with bubbles...who doesn't, right? I am all about capturing children with their favorite toys or games in fields, farms etc. anywhere other than in an expected environment.Editing
I used layer masks to blend the different exposures together so I could have a somewhat underexposed background. I also warmed the image a bit more.In my camera bag
3 different lenses, a zoom, a 50mm 1.4 prime for portraits and an ultra wide for landscapes. Also ND filters such as the 3-stop and the 10-stop and a CPL.Feedback
Place children in unexpected surroundings but include their favorite toys, pets, stuffed animals, even their favorite blanket. Sunlit portraits are very challenging. If you are going to use lighting keep it simple and use an ND filter to allow you to use large apertures which are so important for those kind of scenes. Otherwise a shaded area would do. When neither is possible then frame stack it.
