Location
This was taken in my home studio. I have never had any photography classes but just shoot whatever catches my eye and hope for the best! I saw a similar photo on ViewBug and decided to try it myself.Time
I believe it was late morning, taken in front of a window on a window seat. When I commented on the photo I saw on ViewBug, I also asked how it was accomplished. I made two separated stacks of books, about five inches apart, about one foot high. There were the M&M's on the bottom between the stacks. I then placed a clear CD case on top of the books. I then used very cold (hard) water from an eye dropper and put several drops onto the CD case. Then I took several shots to see the effect. I was very pleased with the result. And it is true what they say, this type of photography can be very addictive. I am so thankful to have photography friends that love to help and guide others!Lighting
The natural lighting from the window was perfect and I did not need to use any other.Equipment
This shot was taken with a Pentax K2000, Aperture: f/8.0, ISO: 800, Shutter Speed: 1/90.Inspiration
Seeing this shot done by someone else and how awesome it was got me excited to try it myself. It is a lot of fun to stretch yourself and see what new things you can accomplish.Editing
I darkened the background slightly (I had used a black velvet piece of cloth for the bottom) and very little contrast. The colors of the M&M's were already bright and beautiful. In my camera bag
This was the only camera and equipment I had at the time of this photo.Feedback
Any time you see a beautiful creation, don't be afraid to try it yourself. You can only grow as a photographer if you stretch your own limits!
