Location
This photograph was taken in our sign shop with a VERY cooperative helper.Time
Taken in the morning, the shot took about an hour for just the right touch.Lighting
Lighting was one constant daylight balanced overhead florescent with a shoe flash.Equipment
This was taken handheld at table level using an old Nikon D3000 with an on shoe flash. The table had a black velvet covering with a plexi-glass top. This wonderfully patient model had to squat evenly without touching the plexi...I had to time the shot between her breaths (so no fogging on the plexi).Inspiration
I'm fascinated with reflections and wanted to re-create a reflection without a mirror at a unique angle, indoors!Editing
Using Lightroom, the image was tweaked with minor color adjustments and sharpened a hair.In my camera bag
I love a crop sensor camera and I like to shoot tight. Currently, I'm using the Nikon D7100 with various prime lenses.Feedback
First of all, make sure your model isn't afraid to be uncomfortable! A few yards of black velvet, a sheet of plexi-glass, a folding table and light it. It's actually quite easy...take your time, show your model the look you're going for, and you'll get a terrific photo.
