Location
The photo was taken on the tallest dunes at the Great Sand Dunes National Park, Colorado before the thunderstorm.Time
Took this picture in the afternoon before the thunderstorm and I was lucky to capture dramatic effect with light and shadowsLighting
As I reached the top of the dunes, the weather slowly started to change. I thought that was the perfect moment to take some pictures with beautiful lighting and shadowsEquipment
Canon 40D with filtersInspiration
It was breathtaking, the fading sunlight and dark clouds created a beautiful light and shadow effect on the dunes. I saw a family enjoying the dunes and was lucky enough to capture the perfect angle and moment. It was almost like a dream and that moment was priceless.Editing

I always carry Sony SLT A 77 -V or Sony A7s with me whenever I travel.Feedback
Always travel with a camera; you never know when and where you are lucky to capture the best shots. You can get the best shot of dunes when it's partially clouded so check the weather before visiting to capture the best shadow effects, also you can get nice shadow effects during sunrise or sunset.
