Location
This photo was taken in Toronto. I took a cruise to Toronto Central Island to get the complete view of downtown with lake Ontario.Time
I took this photo just before sunset. Time was around 8'O Clock. I went to the location around 4'O Clock, set up my camera on tripod and waited for the sunset for 4 hours.Lighting
I was at the location quite early before sunset. I took lot of pictures with different lighting. But this is my favorite one. It was beautiful golden hour light covering the whole downtown of Toronto and the lake Ontario. It was worth to wait there for sunset and I was quite happy with the output.Equipment
I used Canon 6d, 24-105mm Lens with 10 stop ND Filter, Tripod and Canon Timer Remote Controller TC-80N3.Inspiration
I live in Toronto area and I'm new in photography. I wanted to take picture of Toronto Skyline with light reflection in water. To fulfill my wish I took a cruise to The Toronto Islands. This was the only place where I can shoot complete view of downtown. I took lot of pictures before sunset and after sunset. But the output was much better which I took before sunset. It was nice golden hour covering the whole downtown and the lake.Editing
Yes I used Light Room 5 for the post-processing. To make this picture more dramatic I used some graduated filter to add more blue color in water and sky and used another graduated filter to add more dramatic colors to sunset. In my camera bag
Canon 6d, Canon 24-105mm f/4 Lens, Canon 85mm f/1.2, Canon 50mm f/1.8 ND 3 Stop Filter, ND 10 Stop Filter, Circular Polarizing Filter, UV Filters, Canon Timer Remote Controller, Canon 430EX Flash, Wireless Flash Trigger, Tripod, Extra Memory Card, Extra Battery, Lens cleaning kitFeedback
Be on the location early. For get best lighting I would recommend golden hour to shoot. Use Tripod for best results.
