this was at the Barton Airshow in Manchester.Time
mid afternoon, the sky was very overcast and the lighting was fabulous. great sheets of menacing clouds with bright shafts of light shining through to highlight the planes, you couldn't miss!Lighting
it was threatening to rain all afternoon , but just cos of a bit of water doesn't mean you should stay indoors! The lighting was incredible, I couldn't have asked for better!Equipment
my Eos 1Ds mk iii, 300mm f2.8, ISO 100, f 3.2, 1/5000.I had to keep the shutter speed high as I was handholding my mighty 300mm. Plus I always shoot raw too.Inspiration
I knew the airshow was on and I try to visit any events , where I might be able to take interesting pics and better my technique...practice, practice, practice is my mantra. I had never shot planes before, but its one of my favourite subjects now. Bright colours, interesting skys , great smoke trails,,,,magic!Editing
