The light caused a near perfect shadow of me from directly above, I really liked how at the same time it made me almost invisible.Equipment

The hexagonal and pentagonal shapes of the Salar de Uyuni, caused by evaporation of the hypersaline water of the lake after the wet season, were simply beyond belief in their scale and complexity. It's immensity, however, somehow seemed to contract with the intricate details bought out in this self portrait.Editing
The image was processed in Lightroom by desaturating it, increasing the contrast, the clarity, and modifying the tone curve.In my camera bag
At the time I was backpacking through South America - bringing the drone was a real drag when I only had a single backpack to live out of! I also bought my Canon 6D, a 70-200mm f2.8, 24-70mm f4, 100mm Macro f2.8, 50mm f1.4 and 14mm f2.8.Feedback
Multirotor drones have really come of age as a technology - they are now affordable, accessible and easy to use. I highly encourage everyone to get their hands on one. They open up a whole new world of perspectives that were previously only the realm of professional photographers with huge budgets.
