Congrats on the feature. If you can get this close, it explains why they are endangered species.

No words can describe this image - there are plenty of words that come close, like "brilliant", "outstanding", "awesome" etc, but this is beyond all of those. Congratulations on an incredible capture.

This is my favorite out of your bald eagle series... magnificent! I pray you were able to find your backed up photos. I have been through that so I know how devastating a loss like that is.

Ive always liked Eagles and Birds of Prey since visiting this Sanctuary some 30 years ago ... Ive been following its growth throughout those years and continue to drop in and take photos. the Intensity of an Eagles eyes, its body language has always inspired me to try to capture that Look ..Editing
I used Photoscape on this particular photo , I love it .. Its pretty basic and straight forward but very good and its Free .... I mostly just used the curves to bring out the detail in the feathers and some sharpening.... and really thats about itIn my camera bag
Right now I have a Nikon D80 , 17mm-35mm, 35mm-75mm and a 75-300mm everything bought was used ,, and a basic off camera flash with a tripod nothing fancy although I lost my tripod on my last outing and have to replace it.... I hate being without my tripod I miss to many nite shots and lightning opportunitiesFeedback
Biggest thing on this type photo was patience and persistence. Thats where the tripod comes in handy also, Lol.. Who wants to hold that camera and lens that long waiting for the perfect moment to capture... So have a tripod!! Not only will it give you as sharp as image as can be achieved... But its also a great arm saver ..Then theres light, I happened to be at the right moment at the right time.If this would have been in the shade the glowing white would have never shined as bright.. So expose on the white so you dont burn that feather detail out... I seldom use program exposure I miss some shots that way but I trust manual more for the correct exposure and to be able to adjust for the Whites and Blacks. So the less post work you do the better the image... I do trust auto focus but with the ability to focus on the area that I like with my command dial I try to focus toward the eyes... apertuere is next for me trying to control the background or detail in the image. What do I want to sacrifice or focus to be in this image. I was mostly concered with the Head nothing else mattered... That was my main objective
