I was ready to leave as dusk was approaching but I decided to take a few more pictures. In retrospect I was about to witness a rare occurrence. As I was getting my tripod set up and focusing just right both birds took off vertically. As I followed them trying to stay in focus they joined claws, at least one pair of claws and one beak to claw. They began twirling and then separated and came together a few times. All of this occurred about 5 to 30 feet above me.I took about 20 shots,
