This is beautiful...I like how you have captured the rays of light along the top which follow the contour of the trees; along with the appearance of walking through the gate and into 'the light'! Very nicely captured :) Peer award given!

Beautiful photo! I love the glow off the road in the back and the rays shown above the roof

Location
I am a complete amateur (in both meanings of the word. I don't have formal training and love photography). One day I read that the best picture is the one that you actually take; so, I started to carry a camera with me everywhere. This picture was taken at the company where I work, and it turned out very different than the actual location.Time
It was very early in the morning (around 6 a.m.) in a winter day and I was arriving early for work because I had a lot going on that day. When I saw the opportunity I stopped the car, got out and captured the moment.Lighting
It was a very foggy winter day and the fog helped to create the light effect. I believe the little particles of moisture captured he sun rays and that effect repeated in the front and back of the image also gave it dimension. Having the stone path, and the gate as shadows conveyed feeling to the image, as if the path were leading somewhere mysterious.Equipment
I would like to say that I used a fancy camera and an even fancier tripod, but I used a little Sony Cyber Shot.Inspiration
Just the beauty of it. Carrying my camera around with me taught me to look at things with a different eye. I believe you train your eyes to see everything in its full potential, sometimes seeing what isn't even there. And having this result, showing this mysterious, eerie place, in the middle of an industrial plant, just blew me off!Editing
Not in this particular case. Lately I got a camera that takes pictures in RAW format, and adventured myself into Lightroom. I try not change the picture too much, mainly changing the exposure and sometimes using filters (again, I am also an amateur at Lightroom). In my camera bag
After this Cyber Shot, I got a Canon T3i with the kit lens. For a while I invested in different lenses, going from the cheapest 70-300 mm to the more expensive 50 mm, and all the way to a used 100 mm. I wanted to train to take pictures in the Manual mode, and the T3i makes it a little hard because you need to use the menu and the back screen for settings. With that in mind, I invested in a Canon 70D that have control dials very handy. I also got a small Canon Power Shot G1 that allows me to take pictures in the manual mode, and it is small enough to follow that advice: The best camera (or lenses for that matter) is the one you carry with you.Feedback
Wake up early, if there is fog, smoke or dust in the air, you will get an amazing effect from the light rays. Play with shadows, and if you find a puddle in the way, better yet!
