This photo was taken in my kitchen. The bowl is sitting on a piece of shiny acrylic with some black foam core board in the background.Time
I shot this photo in mid afternoon.Lighting
For this shot I used just window light coming into my kitchen window. I liked how the light caught and illuminated the edges of the bowl.Equipment
This photo was shot with a Fujifilm X-T1 with the 56mm f/1.2 lens. The camera was on a tripod.Inspiration
I had just purchased these freshly-picked strawberries at a local fruit stand. They were so beautiful that I wanted to take a photo of them. I had been experimenting with taking still life shots of objects sitting on shiny acrylic to get the reflections and decided to try it with this shot, too.Editing
This photo was slightly cropped and shadows were brought up a bit, using Lightroom. In my camera bag
I have a Canon 5D Mark 3 and a variety of Canon lenses, and a Fujifilm X-T1 and a collection of Fuji lenses. I love both cameras and use them about equally, depending on what I am shooting.Feedback
Don't be afraid to experiment and try something new. And always look for the good light. I think it is the light and reflections that make this photo stand out.
