Hello Travis. Loving the storytelling aspect of your photo most. It feels surreal and very real at the same time. Love the detail of the rust in stark contrast to the softened natural elements.

I think this one was worth braving the cold because this one is just spectacular. I think my favorite part is that the water has a purple hue. That ship really stands out against the pastels of the water and the sky. Stunning.

I love the sudden feeling that you are being watched, as if the wreck is about to reveal all! and if you look deeply into the lower porthole there she is, the ghostly figure of a maiden? or is it? Well done Regards keith

Congratulations This is a great photo. It is a shame that the top has been knocked down by vandals now. Well done.

Behind The Lens

Location
I took this photo at Woody Point, Redcliffe
Time
Around 6am in the morning. It was winter so sunrise it a bit later, just have to brave the cold which isn't that bad in Queensland. :)
Lighting
Sunrise is my favourite time of day. You get that beautiful soft light, there aren't too many people to compete with, the beaches are washed clean and the wind usually isn't as strong. I like getting both the blue hour and the golden hour
Equipment
i had my trusty Canon 6D with the 24-105mm f4 Lens mounted on a Manfrotto Tripod. I also had an HOYA ND400 Filter but I can't remember if it got light enough to start using it when I took this one
Inspiration
I had been looking for a good spot for landscapes around Brisbane on Flickr, 500px, etc partially shipwrecks, they can be few and fa between. I stumbled across the HMQS Gayundah at Woody Point, Redcliffe. Practically on my door step. I had been to Woody Point many times before and couldn't believe I had never heard of it. It didn't take long for me to arrange a trip.
Editing
Of course. Just Lightroom which I use for around 95% of my work. Toned down the highlights, pulled out the shadows. that sort of thing. I also used the brush just to bring out the ship itself a bit
In my camera bag
My Canon 6D. I also have a Canon 1V if I want to use film which I rarely use, I should probably use it more. I have 4 lens, the 24-105mm f4, the 70-200mm f2.8 IS II, the 50mm f1.8 and I recently added the 16-35mm f2.8II. Manfrotto Tripod, a Canon 430ex II speedlite & a Yongnuo 560-III Speedlite. I think thats it, well the big stuff anyway
Feedback
Get up early and do your research. Plan well and most of the work is done when it comes to landscape photos. Preparation also gives you more confidence get get the shots you are chasing and there are a lot of resources out there to help photographers
