Thanks mate! Sometimes I worry I take the contrast too far but thanks for the encouragement

Location
This photo was taken in Hjørundfjorden in western Norway, near to Urke.Time
Despite the low light this photo was taken just after midday. It was early October and the sun was lowering towards wintertimeLighting
The natural lighting throughout the area is beautiful throughout much of the year, especially in the autumn months.Equipment
This photo was taken on my old Nikon D5000 with the standard 18-55mm lens and polarising filter (maybe Hoya?)Inspiration
This photo summed up the feeling of the moment. We were aboard a ship and had travelled through low hanging mist which cleared to reveal this beautifully reflected view of the mountains of the inner fjord. It was a moment not be missed.Editing
I converted the image to black and white to emphasise the contrast of the low light. It was just more fitting in my mind to the memory. In my camera bag
I use a regular backpack as I always carry a notepad and a pack of cards with me, so when it comes to my photography, I always have my camera, now a D5500, with the 18-55mm and polariser and then I also normally carry my Nikkor 35mm as it's so good in the regular low light in Norway.Feedback
For capturing this sort of image I would mostly suggest keeping an alert eye and take any opportunities. But also, you have to make your own luck. I knew this trip would probably produce some good opportunities so I just went for it. One more thing. Don't be afraid to explore the local area. There are always more gems to be found.
