Location
The photo was taken at Boundary Bay in British ColumbiaTime
I had been travelling there almost daily as there were approximately 30 Snowy Owls in the area, this Owl and another had just finished having a morning bath and had flown on to the log to start preening.Lighting
The lighting is natural sunlight.Equipment
I used my Canon EOS Rebel t1i with my Canon 100-400mm lens at 400mmInspiration
I have always enjoyed birds and photographing them is my hobby.Editing
The only post-processing was to auto enhance LevelsIn my camera bag
Normally in my bag I have my new Canon 70D with my Tamron 150-600mm lens, a Canon 50mm lens, Canon 70-300mm, my kit 18-35 mm lens and a Tamron macro lensFeedback
Patience, especially with Owls, don't try to get close to them, they will eventually come closer to you, if not then it just wasn't meant to be. I had been in the area since first light and this image was made around 11:00 a.m.
