Wow! I think you're complete insane to be in the same ocean as these creatures, but thank G** you were. Hopefully this stunning photo will spread the word to the world as to how nessesary these deadly beautiful creatures are. Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken in the Neptune Islands off South Australia on board Rodney Fox Great White Shark Expeditions

Time

This photo was taken around midday/ early afternoon

Lighting

The super clear water off the Neptune Islands made it possible for the rays of sunlight to penetrate quite deep making for very dramatic well contrasted images.

Equipment

This image was taken with a Sony NEX-5 with Acquapazza housing. I was lucky that my brother was so kind in letting me borrow it while he was out of the water.

Inspiration

The whole trip I tried my hardest to capture the Great White shark in as many characteristics as I could. This image was one where the shark was just cruising around from bottom of the ocean to the surface and checking out the boat and the divers in the cage. I was trying to portray the shark being elegant with its long powerful body.

Editing

Small amounts of editing were done in lightroom
